I attempt to capture the moments in life that touch me most deeply—those gentle, quiet yet profoundly penetrating instants. I primarily work with oil painting, using layers and dilutions of paint to achieve a transparent, almost weightless visual quality. I believe true memory is essentially intangible: light, fluid, yet capable of lasting a long time.

 

In the creative process, I deliberately employ thin glazes, multiple layers of transparent color, and soft brushstrokes, allowing the colors to slowly seep into and blend on the canvas, creating a hazy effect similar to memories gently filtered by time. I avoid strong contrasts or dramatic compositions, instead choosing low-saturation, warm yet restrained tones and simple pictorial structures, so that looking becomes a quiet pause. These choices stem from my understanding of “gentle memory”: it does not need to shout; a light touch is enough to evoke a similar sense of happiness.
